This session will cover some of the key matters that preparers should take into consideration as they prepare financial statements in 2022. The session will also benefit reviewers and auditors of financial statements, looking at some of the more complex and evolving areas of financial reporting.
The content will cover some of the key considerations for financial statement preparation in 2022. In this session Lindsay Webber and Claire Thomson will cover the following:
- Accounting for climate change and sustainability
- Significant judgements and key accounting estimates for FY2021
- Consolidated accounts – common problem areas
- Narrative Reporting – key considerations from company law
Each of the above topics will include sample disclosures from live financial statements.
Lindsay is a qualified Chartered Accountant and trained with KPMG in Johannesburg. She has over six years external audit experience along with over six years academic experience specialising in Audit and Financial Accounting.
Claire is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland, and trained with Grant Thornton in Belfast. She spent 5 years in corporate audit, before moving to Grant Thornton’s risk & compliance team, where she spent 6 years supporting the all-Ireland practice as UK financial reporting subject matter expert.
